What is a wrap and how long will it last?
A wrap is a procedure that allows small to large size companies to utilize
their personal or fleet vehicles
for cost effective advertisements
or promotions. Wrap is also a
vinyl material that can be printed
on them laminated and applied
to just about any vehicle, sign,
boat, trailer, etc. UCR Graphics
uses 3M materials (vinyl &
laminate). 3M is the leader in
the production of wrap material
with a manufactured warranty then
a certified 3M dealer and an installation
facility! In general a wrap will
last 3 to 5 years with proper
maintenance.This is the answer
to the question.
Will the material used, damage the paint on my vehicle?
No! UCR Graphics being a certified 3M installation facility will inspect every
item to be wrapped via a 3M inspection
form. Unless your vehicle, boat,
sign, trailer, etc. fails the
inspection form then it might
be in question. You might ask
what is in question, in question
would only be if:
(A) Your paint is currently flaking
or cracking.
(B) The gel coat is damaged or
cracked.
(C) The material to have the wrap
applied is not compliable to the
3M adhesion.
(Mostly plastics)
(D) The vehicle to be wrapped
has a new paint job less than
30-90 days old.
[This is the answer to the question.
No. UCR again uses 3M laminate that is UV protective. UCR has to use a material
that prohibits color loss (fade)
for warranty proposes. If your
vehicle or wrapped item has been
damaged we have to be able to
reprint that section to match
existing wrap. That’s why we will
not jeopardize our quality or
materials for less superior or
substandard.
What if my vehicle is damaged in an accident, do I have to have the whole wrap redone?
As answered in above question you will not have to rewrap the entire vehicle,
boat, sign, trailer, etc. the
good news is that a wrap will
protect the item wrapped, from
possible scratches, chips, or
fading. In case your item that
was wrapped does have an unfortunate
accident them UCR can patch or
replace that damaged area. UCR
Graphics keeps on file all of
our customers wraps just in case
this happens, and since UCR design,
prints, and installs all their
work the customer don’t have long
down time. UCR can reproduce the
item within days of the damage
report and have you back on the
road in no time!
